monthly pop-up adventure playgrounds where children’s freedom is a top priority. these deconstructed, temporary play spaces inspire innovation, imagination and invite kids to explore calculated risks in a safer setting. suited for kids aged between 2-12. trained staff and volunteers are always on hand.

  • this space gathering is located at SUSU commUNITY Farm in our newly designed children’s garden. everyone will have full access to an abundance of recycled, repurposed, and natural materials such as cardboard boxes, ropes and fabrics, to recreate, dismantle, and transform as they please! Trained volunteers will be available to provide low-interventionist support in response to the play that emerges.

this youth-centered space is open to all kids but may be most suited to those between the ages of 2 and 12.

dr. morgan leichter-saxby, a local playworker and co-founder of pop-up adventure play, will also be offering further conversation for caregivers regarding playwork (a decades-old professional approach towards supporting children’s play), therapeutics of joy, reconnecting with play in adulthood… and whatever else people are curious about!

Click here to learn more about Pop-Up Adventure Play.

Pre-registration is helpful but not required and there is no cost to attend.

Light snacks will be provided, and there will be tented areas for shade.

You are welcome to bring your own chair and other items for accessibility and comfort.

There is an ADA accessible port-a-john style bathroom on-site.

The terrain is mostly grassy with two separate paths to the lower field, one with a graduated decline and one that is more steep. There is an all terrain vehicle with seatbelts available to support with mobility.

before arriving please read over the commUNITY agreements for farm visitation.

this is an outdoor event. Masks are optional. If you feel any COVID-19 symptoms please rest and stay home.

  • we vision a world where youth are centered, cared for, uplifted, and supported. where their visions and dreams for the future are respected, and where they can pave the way for the generations to come. through youth to liberation pipeline we are supporting youth in our commUNITY in building a space at SUSU that centers their dreams, visions, and ideas for a possible future.

SUSU commUNITY exists upon the stolen abenaki land, presently known as vermont. we acknowledge the nulhegan band of the coosuk abenaki nation, koasek abenaki tribe, elnu abenaki tribe, and the missiquoi abenaki tribe. we pay homage to our afro-indigenous ancestors. the ones who planted seeds of liberation against all odds, and to the ones who chose the water. we are because you are.
